NEW LAND SALES REGULATIONS 2016

In our 22 July 2016 alert we referred to the intention of the Government of Fiji to enact Regulations to govern offences, penalties and extensions of time on the construction deadline of 31 December 2016. These Regulations have now been issued (including, at the back of the Regulations, the six-page application form to be used by those seeking an extension of time, and for which an application fee of F$1,000 plus 9% VAT is payable).

Given the constraints of time, we are reproducing the Regulations here without further analysis or explanation (because they will affect different owners of land in different ways).

A team at Munro Leys, led by Glenis Yee, is working with a number of owners of Fiji land to resolve their issues. You may contact Glenis, Richard Naidu or any member of the Munro Leys Commercial Group for further assistance.
