Designs, as such, are not registrable in Fiji. Fiji’s United Kingdom Designs (Protection) Act provides that any design registered in the United Kingdom enjoys the same privileges and rights in Fiji. However, damages for breach of copyright in a design may not be recovered if defendants prove that they were not aware of the registration and had no reasonable means of making themselves aware of it.
In light of this, owners of UK designs who wish to be able to protect their ownership, advertise their UK design registrations in Fiji so that the public has notice of them.
There are no other formal requirements.
