Dispute Resolution In Fiji

Reciprocal enforcement of judgments

The general rule at common law is that money judgments (other than tax judgments) of one country may be sued upon in another, and this rule applies in Fiji. Statutory provisions in Fiji provide for the regulation and enforcement in Fiji of judgments of most British Commonwealth courts, the States of Australia, India, Pakistan and a number of South Pacific island states.

Judgments of the High Court of Fiji are also reciprocally recognised by these countries.
