Shayne gained her law degree and professional qualifications from the University of the South Pacific in 1998. She was admitted to the High Court of Fiji in 1999 and has practised ever since as a commercial lawyer in Fiji.
Shayne joined the Munro Leys Commercial Group in 2007 and works principally in the areas of foreign investment, employment and commercial property law.
Shayne is a council member of the Fiji Law Society, a board member of the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement and Secretary of the Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset. She is also a former board member of the Fiji Young Lawyers Association and Fiji Women Lawyers Association and as a representative of the Fiji Women’s Rights Movements is a current member of the Labour Advisory Board.
Shayne’s earliest career was as a competitive swimmer. She represented Fiji in various international competitions between 1985 and 1993.
