Our Firm
We are Fiji’s largest law firm. Our origins go back to Fiji's Deed of Cession in 1874, but our name comes from the firm which evolved during the 1930s under the able leadership of two outstanding lawyers, Robert Lindsay Munro and Arthur Dignan Leys. Their names remain as a symbol of the excellence and integrity the firm aims for. Our team of 14 lawyers, assisted by capable paralegal and support staff, accept instructions in all areas of commercial law. Our litigation lawyers appear regularly in Fiji’s courts, at all levels.
We act for many offshore and resident institutions with business interests in Fiji, in both the private and public sectors. We work in all of the major sectors of Fiji’s economy, including sugar, tourism, other primary industries, services industry, utilities and infrastructure development. Our lawyers are specialised in various fields of law to meet specific client needs.
Munro Leys aims for high standards of client service based on a sound understanding of client needs. The firm has embarked on a best practice certification programme, based on Australian best practice standards. Our staff come from all of Fiji's different ethnic groups and play diverse roles in Fiji's public life.
Munro Leys is well-connected in the South Pacific region and often works with other professionals in Australasia and beyond, on a wide range of Fiji commercial law issues.
Munro Leys operates on a Windows Server 2003 platform, aimed at maintaining modern electronic document-drafting and client communications systems.
